Teaching Fellowships

Artreach instituted the Teaching Fellowship in 2015 and in 2016, the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art came on board to support the programme. Through fixed grants, Teaching Fellows work with groups of children in care homes, leading them through a foundation course in visual art. Each Fellow works with up to 20 students (aged 12 to 18), who have a talent and passion for art.

Over 2020-21, the Artreach-KNMA Teaching Fellowships are being offered to eight artist-educators, each of whom lead workshops over six months; these take place online and have grown to become not just a space for learning art skills and media, but for joy and wellbeing, and for learning many new things about the world through art. The artists are guided by an expert panel of artist-educators who meet at the beginning and end of the programme periods, to help nurture and guide.

At the end of the Fellowships the students put up an exhibition of their work. In this website, you will find three such exhibitions from fellowships between 2019-21.
